I’ve been struggeling with an older Nvidia card inside the kids computer, always installed older nvidia drivers with older kernel. The easy way…
But today, i thought: “damn, must get a newer kernel for the kids computer”
after awhile, i thought i can make a new package from the older recipes with today’s kernels. So i started out and it ended great. Made a wiki page of it too here: http://wiki.foresightlinux.org/display/docs/How+to+install+Nvidia-legacy+drivers
There is several other ways too, but that made it easy enough.
Next issue for me was to get an autologin to the laptop, never cared about it before until now. And gdmsetup is removed upstream, so Foresight didnt have any way to make that happen. So i had to google abit, and found a solution. Tried it out and it worked perfectly.
Also made a wiki page:
http://wiki.foresightlinux.org/display/docs/Howto+make+autologin+for+Foresight
So im happy with todays work, 2 great wiki pages done and hopefully will help other Foresight users out there too.
